Tagus Films was founded by filmmakers with extensive international and local experience, who came together to create a unique boutique service production company based in Lisbon.

The Team
Executive Producer
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo moved to New York to study film, where he began working in the industry. Starting out as a boom operator and then production sound mixer, he learned production on set from the ground up.
He lived and worked in New York for over a decade before his career took him across the world, eventually landing in Lisbon where he has lived for the past ten years. Marcelo brings to every production the experience and perspective of someone who has seen firsthand what it takes to make a project come to life.
Producer / Director
Paul is a producer, director and photographer known for a refined, visually driven approach shaped by decades of work across fashion, luxury branding and film. His background in editorial photography and art direction informs a precise, atmospheric style that balances craft, composition and restraint. His work has been recognised internationally with multiple awards and he continues to collaborate with brands and agencies across a wide range of visual projects.
Production Designer
With a background in design and over twenty years of experience across editorial work and creative direction, Joana brings a singular visual perspective to the worlds she helps build. Her work is guided by a sharp sensitivity to composition, texture, and the emotional weight of image.
After studying in Lisbon and living and working in Paris and London, she returned with a visual language shaped by different cities, references, and forms of looking. At Tagus, that sensibility extends into production design, where she helps shape atmosphere and visual identity with a clear sense of the world being created within each project.
Production Manager
Júlio works across production coordination, logistics and team management, with experience spanning multiple countries and a wide range of production environments. His approach is grounded in clear communication, adaptability and a strong sense of structure, helping projects move efficiently while staying aligned with their creative intent. He is particularly focused on connecting teams, anticipating challenges and maintaining a steady rhythm throughout the production process.
